IREN is currently looking for a Canada – Procurement Manager to join our team in Canada. The right candidate will be highly motivated, proactive, reliable, and hardworking. The mission of the Procurement Manager is to establish and facilitate best practices achieving economies of scale in the procurement of materials necessary for effective and efficient operations for IREN. The Procurement Manager will successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position while demonstrating IREN’s Vision, Mission, and Core Values.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain strong and positive relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Negotiate pricing, supplier contracts and service level agreements with manufacturers, vendors, suppliers and agents to ensure the highest quality products for lowest possible cost or best competitive price.
  • Receive and evaluate quotations, interview vendors and select/recommend suppliers while considering price, delivery requirements, and past performance of vendor/supplier
  • Process purchase orders, requisitions, and other purchasing documents for the purchase of materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Schedule and coordinates delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Review Bill of Material with Management to determine major buy-outs and subcontracts versus field order/release items.
  • Develop Project Procurement Plan in conjunction with Management.
  • Lead implementation of supplier optimization and supplier risk management initiatives, along with Continuous Improvement and Lean Activities by conducting supplier and subcontractor analysis, evaluate potential new suppliers and manage the overall supplier qualification process, as required.
  • Review and approve invoices. Coordinate and resolve invoice problems with vendor and A/P.
  • Coordinate and administer material returns, credits and refusals process while ensuring cost efficient handling.
  • Coordinates and administers special procurement projects, as required.
  • Perform additional duties as directed.
  • Operate and implement purchasing software.
  • Develop policies and procedures while maintaining terms and conditions.

Desired Skills, Qualifications and Competencies include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration with Purchasing concentration, or relevant education and/or experience.
  • 3-5 years purchasing experience in the electrical industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of electrical equipment and construction materials.
  • Demonstrated accomplishments in handling diverse and complex sourcing transactions, negotiations, and contractual responsibilities.
  • Understand legal terms and conditions.
  • Working knowledge of procurement techniques, procedures, policies, and accounting.
  • Proficiency with MS Office programs, MS Projects would be a plus.

Other Important Requirements:

  • A clear Criminal Record Check is required.
  • Must provide own steel toed work boots, all other PPE supplied.
  • Must be able to reliably commute to the operations site daily or have plans to relocate before starting work.

  • Salary range: Starting CAD $100,000, depending on experience.
