IREN Job Applicant Privacy Statement – How IREN Handles Your Personal Information

Welcome to Iris Energy Limited (doing business as IREN) and the subsidiaries it owns (“IREN”, “we” or “us”). Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Statement explains how we collect, use, share and protect your personal information when you apply for a job with us in Australia, Canada, or the United States. By submitting your application, resume, or curriculum vitae, you agree to the terms outlined in this Privacy Statement, this includes submissions either directly or via third party websites, depending on the recruitment path you have followed.

1. Who processes my personal information?

Iris Energy Limited (doing business as IREN) and the subsidiaries it owns are responsible for ensuring that the personal information we collect is protected and processed in accordance with this Privacy Statement and applicable data protection and privacy laws.

2. What personal information do we collect?

We collect the following types of personal information from job applicants:

  • Contact Information: Name, address, phone number, and email address
  • Professional information: Resume/Curriculum Vitae (CV), cover letter, employment history, educational background, professional qualifications, and languages spoken
  • Identification Information: Date of birth, nationality, and where applicable, government-issued identification numbers to demonstrate proof of work eligibility
  • Assessment Information: Interview notes, test results, and background check reports (such as, verification of education, and professional background, criminal record check, and other relevant information subject to IREN Group policies and applicable laws)
  • Communication Records: Correspondence and communications with us during the application process
  • Publicly available information available on social media or other online resources where your personal information is made publicly available

As outlined at section 3 below, this personal information is collected so we can consider you for the job you have applied for or for future job opportunities.

3. Why is personal information processed?

We collect and process personal information for the purpose of filling job vacancies, to pursue IREN’s business interests in relation to recruitment planning and to meet legal, regulatory and compliance obligations.

As a job applicant, we will process your personal information to assess your suitability for a job you have applied for, or to match you with other job vacancies at IREN. Sometimes we need to collect certain types of personal information to comply with our legal obligations, and if that’s the case, that will be explained to you when it is requested.

We’ll collect personal information from you when you contact us, complete forms or upload documents to our website or third party websites or when you are applying for a job. Later in the recruitment process we may also request additional personal information (in compliance with applicable laws), including for the purposes of confirming your eligibility to work, and checking your qualifications and references and preparing for you to start employment with us.

4. How will my personal information be processed?

Your personal information may be received in several ways: (1) by our recruitment and/or hiring team and may be shared with relevant hiring managers and departments involved in the hiring process (2) directly by the hiring managers and staff involved in the recruitment process or (3) from third-party recruiters or service providers who assist with recruitment activities. At all times, we will treat your personal information confidentially and only share it on a needs-to-know basis.

We may also use third-party service providers to assist with recruitment activities and will share your personal information with them to carry out these activities such as background checks and online assessments.

Sometimes at the end of a recruitment process, and in compliance with applicable laws, we may seek your consent to disclose your personal information to third parties who assist us with our compliance obligations (in relation to the job you are being engaged to perform). We may also need to disclose your personal information if we are under a legal obligation to do so (e.g. responding to a court order).

5. International transfers of personal information and data retention

As IREN and our third-party service providers operate in multiple countries, we need to disclose personal information across national borders (for the purposes described in this Privacy Statement). Where we do so, we take steps intended to ensure that such disclosures are adequately protected and comply with applicable laws.

In each case, the data recipient may be in a country that does not have laws offering the same level of protection of personal information as the laws that apply in the country where you are located, or where your personal information may be accessible by government agencies.

Personal information will only be processed for as long as this is required for the purposes it was collected for as outlined in this Privacy Statement or for the time required authorised by law. Also, as explained at section 6 below, you can choose to delete your personal information.

6. How do I remove my personal information?

At any time, you can request for your personal information to be deleted from our system and files and to no longer to be considered for employment. In some countries it may be required by law to hold your personal information for a prescribed period, in such circumstances your personal information will be deleted as soon as it is legally permitted to do so.

When you visit our careers page, we may collect information about your device, browsing actions, and patterns. This helps us understand how visitors use our site and improve your experience.

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to collect this information. There is detailed information about the use of cookies on our website here. GLOSSARY

Personal information means all information relating to an identifiable individual. It includes your name, contact details, education, training, work experience and employment history and CV.

Processing includes anything that can be done with personal information, including its collection, use, disclosure, transfer, storage, retrieval, amendment and deletion.
