IREN is currently looking for a Lead Electrical Commissioning Coordinator to join our Childress, TX team.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Verify circuitry installations are wired as expected and work as intended
  • Work with subcontractors during construction to ensure expectations are met, wiring is as per IFC Drawings, and that installations will work as designed and intended
  • Troubleshooting basic circuitry, control circuitry, PLC inputs and outputs primarily analog AND discreet in nature. Configure and Commission Motors and VFDs prior to/ post energization up to 50HP
  • Assist network team in troubleshooting communication issues and verify subcontractor's network installations function as desired and meet organizational standards
  • Create a LOTO for subcontractors including documentation and verification and lead the effort in ensuring a safe commissioning effort for all involved as well as participate in creation of processes and procedures that contribute to safe startups and initial energizations of equipment
  • Participate in new project planning and determine necessary installation techniques.
  • Conduct regular walk-through inspections to ensure compliance with contractual specifications, government regulations, and safety requirements.
  • Inspect manufactured products, on-site materials/equipment, and installation processes for compliance.
  • Document and communicate inspection results, recommending solutions for non-compliant situations.
  • Provide QA/QC feedback throughout project phases and assist in developing risk management strategies.
  • Train and oversee subcontractor compliance and enforce company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure projects meet contractual specifications, regulatory standards, and company safety requirements.
  • Develop and implement improvements in communication, monitoring, and enforcement of compliance standards.
  • Ensure the maintenance and submittal of appropriate and timely compliance reports as contractually required.
  • Discuss violations and potential stop-work orders with project management and supervision, recommending rectifications.
  • Collaborate with field, design, and owner stakeholders to facilitate teamwork-based solutions.
  • Assist in developing and verifying energy savings for buildings and organizations.

Position Requirements:

  • Journeyman electrician license.
  • Minimum 2 years in electrical commissioning role or equivalent
  • 5+ years of project supervision and/or team lead experience.
  • OSHA-30 certification (or must be obtained within six months of hire).
  • Advanced knowledge of OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Experience with Schnieder Modicon or similar PLC Family is a plus
  • Exemplary analytical and problem-solving skills in energy and commissioning performance.
  • Proven success in delivering complex, custom project scopes for various commercial, and light industrial facilities. Strong listening, communication, and technical writing skills
  • Proficient in MS Office and willing to learn new software.
  • Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve problems proactively.
